Starr’s Mill High School Band Receives Rotary Grant

On Friday, August 8th the Rotary Club of Peachtree City awarded the Starr’s Mill Band Boosters with a $500 grant. The grant will be used to purchase some Brazilian drums that will allow our directors to teach more cultural diversity and appreciation through exposure to instruments from other cultures. We currently have to borrow these drums from other schools. Owning the drums will allow us to more easily use them each year for many different ensembles. Thank you to the Rotary Club of Peachtree City for starting us on the journey of owning our own Brazilian drums.

Marching Band Camp Highlights

Marching band camp is now over and despite the crazy weather, our students learned a lot, proving this with their parent performance at the end of the second week. Thank you to all of the instructors who worked with our students and to all of the parent volunteers that helped with chaperoning, snacks, instructor meals, uniforms etc. Please enjoy these pictures.
